Healing With Feng Shui
Do you like this story?
There is a rhythm to life, a time for birth, a time for growth, a time for decline and a time for death. A part of the process of healing is to be one with nature.Cycles are important: moon cycles are often used for planting, cutting hair, beginning new projects. Similarly, the cycles of the sun, of day or of night, being more active during the daylight hours when the energy is more yang, and winding down in the evening when the energy is more yin. There are also the seasonal cycles; solstices, equinoxes, and the times in between. When we are in tune with, and particularly when we consciously align with these cycles of nature, this rhythm of life, we find more harmony and balance in our lives. The season of winter is a natural time to hibernate, to be still and to reflect. It is a time when we can energetically withdraw inwards and recharge so that we can go forward in the spring with new energy and enthusiasm. Then, we enter the cycle between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, a time when we can plant the seed of a new idea so that it may sprout in the spring. When we follow these cycles, we harness the life energy of the planet and begin to dance to the same beat as the universe. When we pay attention to these cycles of life, we begin to synchronise with them and consequently receive the gift of their vibrant, healing energy. One of the ways in which we can all be one with nature and achieve some balance between us and our immediate environment is through the application of Feng Shui principles. With some small investment in the technology of Feng Shui on our part, we can dramatically change the energies of our environment making our homes a sanctuary to reflect our highest intentions and dreams. This small investment can assist us in aligning with the positive natural forces of life. From a Feng Shui perspective, the bedroom is one of the most important rooms in the home. This is the room that impacts most on human harmony, which relates to our personal power, career, relationships and level of health. And....most of us can appreciate that without a healthy, vibrant mind and body, most of the other areas in our life will flounder. The bedroom should be a retreat from the world. It is a private place where we regenerate, revitalise and it's the room that relates to the most private part of ourselves. Yet, all too often the bedroom seems to be arranged with the least amount of Feng Shui consciousness.Because we all seem to be leading such busy lives, our bedrooms can be very up-tempo as well. We should really be trying to achieve a room that we can instantaneously relax into - a room that fills us with a sense of peacefulness, calm and sensuality. It is a place for rest and regeneration so it is not the best place for gym equipment, office furniture and entertainment systems. The bedroom supports our health. Whilst there are many reasons for ill health - long-term stress, incorrect diet and lack of exercise to name a few, by reassessing those areas of our life, in conjunction with implementing ideal Feng Shui principles then good health and improved well-being can be achieved.A high level of well-being is important in determining the quality of our life. If we're unhealthy we don't have the energy or motivation to deal with others. We are likely to be less tolerant of our partners, our children and others around us. Our ability to work is also impeded in direct relationship with our level of unwellness, which can add financial pressures into the mix. This negative cycle can eventually spiral out of control. To be at one with nature, thereby achieving balance and good health, address the positioning of your bedroom in your home, or at the very least the position of your bed. To enhance human harmony and good health try one or all of the following:Ensure the head of your bed is placed against a solid wall. This promotes a stable foundation. The alternative being a lack of stability leading to general unrest. Should this not be possible and the only wall in your room for your bed head to rest against has a window, then obtain a large solid bed head along with some heavy curtains and place them behind your bed. This will most certainly improve the situation. Just bear in mind that a wrought iron or brass bed head will not suffice.
Never sleep with the foot of the bed opposite a large window or doorway. In this position the rush of energy directed towards you at night is anything but relaxing. If this position is your only option then keep the door or window closed whilst sleeping. Ideally the bed should be diagonally opposite the door. The aim is to be able to see the door but not be in the direct path of the energy flow. To not be able to see the door equates to being vulnerable, and given that the aim is to keep our nervous system calm, then it is always best to seek the most ideal placement.
Change rooms if you have to - especially if everything else has failed and your health challenges seem unimproved or declining. This could well be a very good option that most people won't consider because the bedroom may be smaller than what they're used to, or not have an ensuite. Is the size of the room, or the lack of an ensuite really more important than improved health? It is well recognised that the lead up to Christmas, and of course Christmas itself, can be for a lot of people the most stressful time of the year. And so, there are other actions that can be taken to improve our opportunities for good health at this time. Given that the influence of the Chinese year of the Water Rat remains with us until the end of January 2009, we have at least 3 months to deal with two energies that, when addressed, can make a positive difference to maintaining good health.According to Feng Shui you will find a troublesome influence coming from the South bringing with it difficulties and obstacles. If this part of your home is very active such as the main entrance, family room, passage or living area, then this energy needs to be dealt with by placing an all-metal wind chime or metal prayer bell in this area. The Northwest resonates with the force of sickness during 2008. Therefore we require a string of six metal coins to be placed in this area. This is particularly important if a major thoroughfare of our home is located in that sector, or if the Northwest is the location of our bedroom, kitchen or main entrance. In this way, we can all optimise our environment so that healing comes naturally.Remember, remaining in integrity with the natural order of things leads to balance - and balance leads to healing.
